We have the pleasure of hearing from Tim Rigg, Chief Security Officer at Capital One, who heads the global security team at one of our nation’s ten largest financial companies. Tim will give his thoughts on “Making the Right Hire & Life After the Public Sector” and what has made him successful in hiring security professionals who came out of law enforcement, the military and other public-sector disciplines. Tim’s insightful and direct approach at explaining how both transitioning public sector professionals can be successful as well as sound advice for hiring managers will be an engaging opportunity for all who attend.
This evening will surely be one of our chapter’s most well attended evening networking sessions of the year. After Mr. Rigg’s short interactive session we will spend the remainder of the evening networking and enjoying the evening with colleagues at New York Athletic Club.

Registration for individuals and groups can be made below at the cost of $75 per seat. This meeting will be open seating. Attendees who indicate CPP status when registering online will receive a certificate at the meeting for one (1) CPP continuing education credit.

Speaker Bio: Timothy J. Rigg, CPP | Managing Vice President & Chief Security Officer | Capital One
Mr. Rigg is responsible for the growth, development and implementation of strategic plans and policies that support, promote, and enhance the safety and security of Capital One’s human, fiscal, intellectual and physical assets enterprise-wide. Joining Capital One in December 2014, he brought twenty-two years of corporate security experience to his role, including both internal investigations and physical security. He has substantial expertise in business continuity, crisis management, corporate compliance & ethics, and executive protection.
Prior to joining Capital One, Mr. Rigg held various security leadership roles, most recently as Chief Security Officer at ALCOA. There, he developed and implemented comprehensive international security programs, led a transformation of the security function to a truly global risk management organization, and provided strategic leadership to Global Aviation.
Mr. Rigg received his B.S. from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, and his M.B.A. from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. He has attended Executive Education Programs in Leadership, Business and Strategy through Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Georgetown and Northwestern University. He holds a professional designation as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International.
Mr. Rigg is a member of the Security Executive Council, ISMA, as well as the CSO Roundtable. He is also a member of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) for the Department of State, as well as the FBI’s Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC), and holds a Secret clearance through the Department of Homeland Security.
