Brian H. Reich, CPP is a respected corporate security leader. In that capacity, he has helped build enterprise security risk management teams for several Fortune 500 companies and stood up programs to strengthen public-private partnerships, investigations, technology, physical security & business continuity capabilities. He is a recognized leader in the industry for building teams that are based on a foundation of relationships, innovation and teamwork.
Brian is currently the Head of Corporate Security and Workplace Safety for the Kemper family of Companies. Kemper is one of the nation’s leading specialized insurers, with $15 billion in assets and nearly 10,000 associates across the U.S.
In his prior public-sector leadership role, Brian was the Deputy Chief of the Bergen County, New Jersey Sheriff’s Office, where he oversaw the region’s Fugitive Task Force, Missing Persons unit, Internal Affairs, Crime Scene Unit as well as oversight of all external agency relationships which included serving as the key liaison to Operation Sentry, the NYPD Intelligence and Information Sharing program. As Deputy Chief, he was also responsible for the physical security and safety of Bergen County’s Justice Complex and led key initiatives to secure millions of dollars in funding to implement changes in legacy technology and physical security upgrades. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief, Brian served in a variety of roles in Bergen County, NJ law enforcement with assignments in patrol and as a Detective assigned to various specialized units that included the Special Victims Squad, Computer Crimes Unit, and the county’s Major Crimes Squad.
Brian is an ASIS International Board-Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a DRI International certified Business Continuity Professional. Brian served as the Chairman of the ASIS International Law Enforcement Liaison Council, (LELC) where he provided strategic leadership to an elite group of senior level security and law enforcement executives from the United States and around the world. Brian has held many global ASIS international leadership roles to include positions as a member of the ASIS International Foundation Board of Trustees, the Professional Certification Board and currently an advisory board member for the ASIS CSO Center.
Brian continues to be a featured speaker at many industry seminars and events and has lectured throughout the United States on various topics. One of Brian’s passions is the subject of Public to Private sector transition. Brian has been an invited speaker across the U.S. to law enforcement groups on that topic. He has quickly become the “go to” person for advice on how to make the switch from “the squad room to the board room.” To that end, Brian was an invited speaker at the Florida Police Chief’s annual training conference, a guest speaker at the International Association of Professional Security Consultants along with NYPD’s former Police Commissioner William J. Bratton and a featured speaker at the FBI National Academy Associates annual training conference held in Seattle, Washington.–
